আমাদের এই দেশ
সূচনা:সুজলা-সুফলা শস্য শ্যামল আমাদের এই দেশ বাংলাদেশ।  বিভিন্ন ধর্মের মানুষ, বিভিন্ন পেশার মানুষ মিলে-মিশে একসঙ্গে বসবাস করে এই ছোট্ট দেশে।
দেশের আয়তন: বাংলাদেশ একটি ছোট্ট দেশ। এই ছোট্ট দেশের আয়তন মাত্র ৫৬,১৭৭ বর্গমাইল বা ১,৪৭,৬৭০ বর্গকিলোমিটার।
বিভিন্ন ধরনের মানুষ: বাংলাদেশ একটি বৈচিত্র্যময় দেশ। এ দেশে বিভিন্ন ধরনের মানুষ বসবাস করে যেমন: চাকমা, গারো, ত্রিপুরা, মুরং, তংচঙ্গা ইত্যাদি।
অর্থনৈতিক: বাংলাদেশের অর্থনৈতিক অনেকটাই কৃষির উপর নির্ভরশীল। বাংলাদেশের প্রধান অর্থকরী কৃষিদ্রব্যগুলো হল: পাট, চা ও তামাক। এগুলো রপ্তানি করে বাংলাদেশ প্রতিবছর অনেক বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা অর্জন করে।
বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিযুদ্ধ: বাংলাদেশ এখন একটি স্বাধীন দেশ।  ১৯৭১ জাতির জনক বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের ঘোষণার মাধ্যমে শুরু হয় এক রক্তক্ষয়ী ভয়ানক যুদ্ধ। নয় মাস ধরে চলে এই যুদ্ধ। ৩০ লাখ মানুষ প্রাণ হারায় এ যুদ্ধে। তবুও পাকিস্তানিরা জয়লাভ করতে পারেনি। পরাজিত হয় বাংলাদেশের কাছে। জন্ম হয় এক নতুন রাষ্ট্রের। যার নাম বাংলাদেশ।
উপসংহার: মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা আমাদের দেশের জন্য নিজের প্রাণ বিপন্ন করেছে দেশকে স্বাধীন করেছে। তারা বাংলাদেশকে ভালোবাসে বলেই বাংলাদেশের জন্য প্রাণ দিয়েছিল। আমরাও আমাদের এই দেশকে অনেক ভালোবাসব।

বাংলাদেশের প্রকৃতি

সুচনাঃ– আমাদের দেশ বাংলাদেশ । বাংলাদেশ  ষড়ঋতুর দেশ , এর অর্থ হল , প্রতি দুই মাসে এক – একটা ঋতু ।

ভু– প্রকৃতিঃ– বাংলাদেশের ছোট সীমানার মধ্যেও প্রকৃতি রুপের অনেক উপকরন ছড়িয়ে আছে । বাংলাদেশের কোথাও পাহাড়িয়া বনভুমি, বরেন্দ্রভুমি, আবার রয়েছে সমভূমি।

ঋতু বৈচিত্র্যঃ– বাংলাদেশের বারোমাসে রয়েছে ছয় ঋতু – গ্রীষ্ম , বর্ষা , শরৎ, হেমন্ত, শীত , বসন্ত।

গ্রীষ্ম– গ্রীষ্ম কালে খুব গরম পরে। থাকে অসহ্য রোদের তাপ। দুপুরে পথে বের হওয়া যায় না ।

 বর্ষা– বর্ষায় আকাশে থাকে মেঘের ছোটাছুটি খেলা। একটা মেঘ আরেকটা মেঘের উপর হুমড়ি খেয়ে পরে। আকাশ তখন প্রায় কালো হয়ে থাকে ।

শরৎ – শরৎ কালে আকাশের রং হয়ে যায় নীল, আকাশের রং আর কালো থাকে না।   

হেমন্ত– হেমন্ত ভারি লাজুক ঋতু । সে আসে শীতের খবর দিতে। ভোরবেলায় ঘুমের মধ্যে শীত লাগে।

শীত – ভোরের শিশির আর কুয়াশার চাদর মুড়ি দিয়ে আসে শীত । শীতের হাওয়া লেগে গাছের পাতা ঝরে পরে ।

বসন্ত– বসন্ত হল ঋতুর রাজা , সে আসে দক্ষিণ হাওয়ার উপর চরে । এ বাতাসে মন খুশিতে ভরে যায় । আর গাছে আসে নতুন পাতা ।

 

উপসংহার– বাংলাদেশে এই ছয়টি ঋতু আসে যায়, এ আমাদের বড় সৌভাগ্য । কারণ , পৃথিবী যে কত সুন্দর দেখতে , তা আমাদের মতো আর কোন দেশের লোক জানতে পারে না ।

বাংলার খোকা

ভূমিকাঃ ১৯২০ সালের ১৭ই মার্চে শেখ পরিবারে জন্মে ছিল একটি শিশু। তার বাবা আদর করে তার নাম রাখলেন খোকা। আর তিনি হচ্ছেন  বাংলাদেশের শ্রেষ্ট নেতা ও জাতির জনক বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবর রহমান।

জন্মঃ–  বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবর রহমান গোপালগঞ্জ জেলার টুঙ্গিপাড়া গ্রামে জন্মগ্রহন করেন। দিনটি ছিল বুধবার ।

বংশ পরিচয়ঃ– বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবর রহমানের পিতার নাম শেখ লুৎফর রহমান ও মাতার নাম সাহেরা খাতুন।

ছেলেবেলাঃ– বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবর রহমান ছোট বেলাতেই মানুষের কষ্ট সহ্য করতে পারতেন না । তাইতো তিনি গরিব বন্ধুদের বাড়িতে এনে খাওয়াতেন, নিজের চাঁদর গরিব মানুষকে দিয়ে দিতেন ।

স্বাধীনতার ঘোষণাঃ–  বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবর রহমান  কলেজের চৌকাঠ পেরিয়ে যুক্ত হন রাজনীতির সঙ্গে। গরিব মানুষের দুঃখ দূর করার জন্য আন্দোলন করেন। ১৯৭১ সালে স্বাধীনতার ডাক দেন ।

মৃত্যুঃ– ১৯৭৫ সালের ১৫ আগস্ট রাতে সেনা বাহিনীর কিছু সৈনিকের হাতে সপরিবারে মারা জান ।

উপসংহার – নিজের জীবনের সুখ শান্তির কথা ভুলে তিনি জাতির কল্যাণের জন্য কাজ করে গেছেন । তিনি আমাদের মাঝে চিরদিন বেচে থাকবেন ।

বীরশ্রেষ্ঠ মহিউদ্দিন জাহাঙ্গীর

সূচনা–   মহিউদ্দিন জাহাঙ্গীর  ১৯৪৮ সালে বরিশাল জেলার বাবুগঞ্জ উপজেলার রহিমগঞ্জে জন্মগ্রহন করেন।

 

মুক্তিযুদ্ধে তার অবদান– মুক্তিযুদ্ধ যখন শুরু হয় তখন তিনি পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানের কারাকোরামে । সিদ্ধান্ত নিলেন পাকিস্তানি সামরিক বাহিনী ত্যাগ করে মুক্তিবাহিনীতে যোগ দিবেন এই পরিকল্পনা অনুসারে ছুটি নিলেন এবং জীবনের ঝুকি নিয়ে পাকিস্তান থেকে  ভারতের দুর্গম পাহাড়ি এলাকা অতিক্রম করে ভারতে আসলেন। ভারতে মালদহ জেলার মেহদিপুরে অবস্থিত মুক্তিবাহিনীতে যোগ দিলেন ।

 

 উপসংহার – দেশ শত্রু মুক্ত হবার দুদিন আগে মহানন্দার সেই যুদ্ধে বীরের মতো তিনি মৃত্যু বরন করেন।

It is December and the season is winter. Mita’s school is closed after the annual examination. Mita and her family have come near a forest for a picnic. Mita has brought her pet dog tommy too. It is a nice sunny day. They have spread a mat under a big tree. Mita’s father, Aminul huq is helping her mother. Sahera banu. He is taking out the food from the basket.Sahera Banu has prepared pitha, khichuri, chicken and potato chips for the picnic. She is running around and playing with tommy. Tommy loves to play with balls. Mita throws a ball and tommy catch it up in his mouth. He brings it back to Mita. Her sister minu likes wild flowers. She has a small basket in her hand. She is plucking flowers. Everybody is happy. They are having fun.

Ms Jamila Akhter is a shop assistant. She works in shifts in a department store in Chittagong. So, she doesn’t have to go at the same time everyday. On some days she works in the first shift from 9 am to 3 pm. On other days, she works in the second shift from 3 pm to 9 pm.

Jamila always goes to work by bus in the morning. The bus stops just outside the store. In the afternoon, she generally goes there by rickshaw or baby-taxi. She doesn’t like to wait at the bus stop in the mid-day heat. The bus is usually over-crowded at that time. She always comes back home by bus.

The name of our country is Bangladesh. It became independent in 1971. Dhaka is its capital. Bangladesh is a small country. Its land area is 1,47, 570 square kilometres. But it has a large population. About 140 million people live here. Bangladesh has mainly an agricultural country. Its main crops are rice, jute, suger-cane and tea. Many kinds of fruites also grow here. Jackfruit, mango, banana, pineapple, guavas and water-melons are the most common. My country has also many rivers. The main rivers are the Padma, the Meghna, the Jamuna and the Karnafully. There are many varities of fishes in these rivers. We have many interesting places. The Sundarbans, Rangamati and Cox’s Bazar are very attractive. The Royal Bengal tiger lives in the Sundarbans.
